10 DECEMBER 2018 | Freddy Tsimba celebrates human rights in Paris
On 6 December 2018, at the bottom of the Théâtre national de Chaillot 's magnificent staircase and in front of the theatre's director, Didier Deschamps, Matthias Leridon and representatives of the Manège de Chaillot trust fund, and his mother and grandmother who had flown in specially for the occasion, Tsimba became emotional when he recalled just how far he has come.

His work Porteuse de vies was unveiled in front of an audience that had come to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Donated by the Manège de Chaillot trust fund to the theatre, Tsimba's work is the first addition to the theatre's decor since 1937. The 4m plus work represents a woman made of cartridge cases and bearing an open book made of keys, "giving us the keys so that today human beings can triumph and to state loudly and clearly that life is priceless."
