6 FEBRUARY 2018 | Make way for young talent - a highly original competition in Kinshasa!
Angalia is delighted to announce the first ever edition of the CFAO young talent competition. Organised in partnership with Texaf-Bilembo cultural centre in Kinshasa and with the support of the CFAO group in DRC, this novel initiative seeks to encourage the work of talented young Congolese artists and identify the leading artists of the future. The competition is open to all Congolese artists under the age of 30 and who work in one of the following disciplines: drawing, installations, modelling, painting, photography, sculpture, mixed techniques or video. Artists wishing to enter the competition must drop off two original artworks on Thursday 3 or Friday 4 May 2018 at the Texaf-Bilembo cultural centre. A judging panel of experienced artists, public figures with the necessary expertise, and collectors, will select the winners. The members of the judging panel, including major names from the Congolese art scene, will soon be revealed.  The first prize will be US$ 2,500 and second prize will be US$ 1,500.

The full competition rules (in French) can be viewed here and on http://texaf-bilembo.com/, as well as at the Texaf-Bilembo cultural centre (372 avenue Colonel Mondjiba, Kinshasa Gombe, DRC).
