A contemporary African art gallery

Angalia booth at 2016 AKAA Fair in Paris
Angalia is an art gallery specializing in contemporary African art. The artworks are displayed online on the gallery’s website and can be viewed by appointment in Meudon, close to Paris.
All the works that we showcase have been bought directly from the artists starting in 2007, the year when the founders started to support our first artists. The gallery was formally created in September 2011.
Angalia is a Swahili word meaning “to look, to see and to observe".

Contemporary artists from the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC)
We solely showcase visual artists who live and work in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Some are established artists, while others are in the process of becoming so. Angalia offers them support, notably by travelling on a very regular basis to Kinshasa. Angalia's local foothold has been strengthened since 2014 by a partnership with Texaf-Bilembo Cultural Centre (texaf-bilembo.com ). Angalia regularly exhibits the work of the gallery’s artists at the cultural centre.
